FEEDBACK ON WOMEN’S MONTH EVENT
Men giving back to women during women’s month
AMADODO EBUHLANTI EVENT FEEDBACK as reported by: Masibulele Hlazo
The event was a huge success; we had more than 50 people in attendance, which included soccer players, church leaders, musicians and community leaders.
Some of the topics that where discussed:
- Gender based Violence
- Self-control (for married man)
- Financial Stability
- 21st Century Man (ending stereotypes that African man shouldn’t cook)
We used bible scripture to start the conversation. We spoke about creating a new culture that will promote a responsible man.
I have never been so happy in my entire life. It was good to hear young boys from the age of 15 years speaking so positively about life and the future. I thought I was inviting them to listen we ended up learning from them. Ebuhlanti gives a platform to men to speak out about their challenges and come up with solutions. We want to decrease the number of women and children abuse cases. We want men to use their authority to build and not to destroy our society.
I went to radio stations to promote the event and I am happy with the turn out. There is already a demand for the next event. Everybody who were there promised to bring friends and family to the next event. I’m expecting 100 people to attend our next event.
Thanks you to made for men for all your support and guidance.
